The 7th Annual Edwardian Ball returns to the storied Fonda Theatre on Saturday, February 27, 2016 for a night of dark humor and Victorian sensibility…both naughty and nice. This yearly ode celebrates the life and whimsy of the brilliant and legendary illustrator Edward Gorey. As such expect to find all manner of art, performance, and fashion inspired by and paying homage to the late great author. But that’s just a sliver of what’s in store as no true Gorey event would be complete without mystical and nonsensical oddities, absinthe cocktails, parlour games, or alluring sideshows. And for those looking for a bit more kick to their Can-can, fear not my dancing brethren as Delachaux will be on hand providing more than enough soundtrack for your Viennese Waltz, Ragtime riff, or any other bombastic movement your body desires. So gentlemen dress to your dandy best; ladies flaunt that coquettish corset and get down to the Fonda this Saturday for a night of the macabre and the magnificent. And if you’re lucky you might just come across some of these lovelies.
