The annual art, music, skate and snowboard festival is hitting the deck this March 3rd and 4th at Exposition Park at the Coliseum and has the fans buzzing. Festival founder Shaun White is currently prepping for the 2018 Olympics in South Korea next month and excited about this year’s event, “The festival is a combination of all my passions sport, music, art and culture and the fact it happens in my home state of California and in Downtown LA, makes it even more special.”
The two-day festival brings an eclectic mix of rockers and ravers. Norwegian DJ, Cashmere Cat, is the pride of country and will be on hand with his deep house and dancehall sound. Chicago crooners Twin Peaks are currently on tour with their latest single “In The Meadow” with featured artist Gucci Mane dropping hits off his 3rd album in 12 months, Mr. Davis. Phoenix will headline Sunday night with multi-instrumentalist and DJ, Zedd, headlining the first.
Starting back in 1994, Air & Style brought out thousands of spectators to Innsbruck, Australia where the skating competition exploded into the massive festival best known for bring out all the punches to a radical and tubular weekend. The streets of L.A. buzz with anticipation every year with a snow covered 16-story ramp for professional snowboarding champions Zak Hale, Louif Paradis and Anto Chamberland to name a few.
Also in attendance, skateboarding athletes like Cory Juneau, CJ Collins, Lizzie Aramanto and Pedro Barros will be in the mix for the competition portion of the program. Let’s not forget the food. Chef Roy Choi (LocoL, Chego, Kogi) will join the fun serving the best of Korean BBQ. The two main stages will capture the ears of many with acts: Wet, Lophiile, Mija, GRIZ, BADCOPBADCOP, Phantogram, Cashmere Cat, Cut Copy, Washed Out, Mura Masa and Cloud Nothings. With tons to do and special guests on tap, this is the festival we’ve been waiting for in 2018.
