The music and food smorgasbord known as Music Tastes Good returns to Long Beach on Saturday, September 30th for a weekend that’s sure to be flavorful and eclectic. The festival, now in its 2nd year, is an opportunity to bring together culinary creatives and musical maestros and have them do what they do best: satiate the stomach and enrich the ear! Expect a bit of a Cajun flair this year as some of New Orleans’ top chefs come together with some of Southern Cali’s very own, for a cultural exchange that organizers are calling a “Port to Port” experience. And what’s the best way to enjoy great food? How about a playlist that includes more than forty bands playing everything from Indie and Soul to Latin Alternative and Hip Hop? Who wouldn’t enjoy a great meal when a line-up featuring Sleater- Kinney, Joyce Manor, Digable Planets, and Rhye is playing in the background?
The two day festival is presented by KCRW and takes place at Marina Green Park in downtown Long Beach. Two musical stages will host the array of artists as well as a “Tasting Tent” where guests can sample bites from some of the best chefs from the bayou and the greater Los Angeles area. Other featured acts include Alvvays, Ween, Built to Spill, Los Lobos performing Kiko, and Juana Molina. This is an all ages event and doors open at 11:00 a.m. For tickets and a complete rundown of the event, head over to: http://mtglb.co/.
