Argentinian-born pop artist Valerie Teicher goes by the name of Tei Shi and is making her move into the limelight with her exuberant and stylized music that is turning heads wherever she roams. Already receiving accolades for her two EP’s, Saudade (2013) and Verde (2015), her latest release Crawl Space is making big waves and critics are taking note. During her stop at Downtown L.A.’s The Novo, her performance was nothing short of extraordinary.
The sensual vibes Teicher plastered on the crowd from the first song “How Far” was only the beginning of this artist’s journey through her set. The pounding of off-beat instrumentation and vocals harmonized into a coagulated soundscape that captivated and enticed the crowd to dance along. Wild mood swings showered the front row as Teicher explored the full gamut of genres with her brand of pop music. The never-ending beats to tracks like “See Me,” “Keep Running” and “Justify” kept the fans wanting more from this genuine artist. Her overwhelming masterpiece “Bassically” finished off her set as Teicher drew the fans closer and closer with every note and rhythm. An incredible live artist that knows how to put on a show, Tei Shi must be witnessed in person to understand how important her music is. With a few dates scattered across the states this Spring, Tei Shi current tour will support her latest release, Crawl Space.
